When sixth-grader, Karman, gets her period for the first time at school, she skips class with her best friend to go on a quest to find a menstrual pad and avoid the shame of the stain.

In this short film directed by Jada Poon, Madison plays Karman, in a middle school coming of age story. Karman always wants to prove she's as good as the boys. Having to face the most drastic change in her life, she's mortified, but she's also determined to get through it. Karman is mature, observant, articulated, and competitive.
Code Red was about to start production in March of 2020. Then due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all productions were shut down and this short film was postponed indefinitely. This was heart breaking to all the cast and crew who were so looking forward to working on this project.
Finally in August of 2021, production was back on with COVID-19 precautions in place. This film went from being a student film in 2020 to an independent film with the support of Ringling College in 2021. Code Red is hitting the film festival circuit in 2022.
Madison was so thankful to be part of this project with such an important message dealing with the lack of accessibility to period products in schools and the hardship girls face when dealing with a natural part of puberty.
